Waves Crashing breathes new life into the beloved sounds of the 80’s & 90’s. Infusing lush soundscapes and melodic hooks that offer a fresh take on the nostalgia of the past while delivering a contemporary edge.

Waves Crashing have released a handful of singles and EP’s, including the 2021 Sea of Wires EP (debuting globally on the shoegaze radio station DKFM), the High/Low EP, and most recently released The Viewing EP, featuring the infectious single “Life on Display”, as well as tracks “Automatic” and “Voices”, all of which have been featured prominently on the legendary Seattle radio station KEXP (90.3 FM).

They have been featured in venues and festivals including LoveOly Summer Fest, South Sound Block Party, and the West Seattle Summer Fest, alongside local and national groups like Bully, Ringo Deathstarr, Wavves, Acid Tongue, New Age Healers, Shaina Shepherd, The Cave Singers, The Districts, Polyrhythmics, Fotoform, Dark Swoon, and Lovely Colours, to name only a few.

The band’s 2022 EP High/Low features mixing by engineer James Aparicio (Depeche Mode, Spiritualized, Mogwai), containing the popular title track “High/Low” and the powerful “In My Head” (also featured on KEXP Seattle), some of the most well received songs in the band’s; ever-expanding catalog.

With their latest release in 2023, The Viewing EP, we hear the band diving sonically deeper than ever before to bring some of their most well-crafted and beautiful songs to the surface. The feature single ‘Life on Display’ has been very well received with continued radio support from KEXP Seattle, DKFM Los Angeles, WXNA Nashville, as well as stations throughout the U.S. With this release, all is on display for the world to hear for themselves.

Plastic Magazine

Continue to impress with a sound steeped in textured guitars, dreamy vocal hooks, and hypnotic rock allure

Obscure Sound

‘Life On Display’ is not just a fun, catchy song, but also one with deep profoundness. The delicate lyricism is haunting, oozing vulnerability.

Nicole Mendes - The Other Side Reviews

Capsized (reimagined)’ is a song painted on a big canvas, proper widescreen music. Built on a foundation of a purring fuzzed out guitar the song plays with some glorious textures.

Mark Anderson - Static Sounds Club (2022)

The group have developed and perfected a rich and melodic guitar-laden sound, always teetering between freshness and nostalgia, atmospheric reflective dreampop and shimmering noisy shoegaze textures over ecstatic vocalizations

White Light // White Heat

Elements of all the best 90s rock with a bit of a Galaxie 500 and expansive 80s classic rock and dream pop sound

We All Want Someone To Shout For

Add glorious rock edges to gaze soundscapes

Jangle Pop Hub

Offer alternative rock with a slightly European compositional approach that makes them stand out from the crowd
